Artist of the Month: Renee Walls from Philadelphia
Congratulations to our Artist of the Month, Renee Walls! Who is our Artist of the Month?
My name is Renee Walls. I am a mother of 3 who like many others today, sometimes find myself looking for ways to make ends meet. As a experienced Graphic Designer who got a start designing in vocational school I have been using my education that I have gained in my Graphic Communication course to earn extra income for years. It wasn't until recently that I found Postermywall.com. The reason that I think that Postermywall is so great, is because not only does the company provide a straightforward, easy way to make posters the company also provides print services. Kind of a like a one stop shop!
In addition to working as a designer, I also have worked within the public relations and Marketing field. I began my education in the Marketing/ PR field at Ashford University and I am currently continuing my education in this field today at University of Phoenix . I find that my love for designing and my passion for marketing is a great marriage. They go hand and hand and make it easy for clients to get all of their needs met through one person.
I work with all sorts of individuals that are looking to gain exposure for their small businesses, causes, ministries, events and much more. As a member of Family in Christ Outreach ministries, I use my experience to help promote positive music to the youth of today. It is our goal to combat the negative images in music today with positive uplifting messages. It is a joy to be able to use my skills to work to make an impact on young lives. I also have gained social media marketing experience through an internship at a online radio network.
One of my largest projects that I have worked on recently, has been Design of Philadelphia. As described on their website, Design of Philadelphia is a " Festival showcases the work of over 400 practicing architects, designers, and creative professionals to demonstrate Philadelphia’s reemergence as a 21st century city shaped by design, technology, and collaborative business practices." I was responsible for assisting in creating an online presence and organizing a promotional team that distributed promo material around Philadelphia.
