How to Create your Facebook Group Cover

How to Create your Facebook Group Cover

There’s no shortage of Facebook groups to go about, and with 1.4 billion people already in Facebook groups, there’s also no shortage of potential members. But with so many Facebook groups, making yours stand out can be a hard task, especially taking into account your Facebook group has only a few seconds to convince potential members to make the decision. Do they click the join button or do they hit back?

Establishing relevance is key to making a successful Facebook group, and one way to do that is by making a Facebook group cover that sparks interest among visitors and provides them information with the right visuals and text content in the Facebook Group Cover.

Read on to learn more about creating your Facebook group cover.

Creating a Facebook Group Cover

Whether you have a Facebook group for a community of creatives, a book club or enthusiasts around a particular topic, you’ll find templates for all kinds of themes. To design your Facebook group cover, follow the steps detailed below:

  1. Start designing by picking a template from the templates gallery that best fits your needs and style.

  2. Open the template preview, and click it again to open it in the PosterMyWall editor.

  3. Open the Resize dialog, scroll down and resize the design to 1640px x 856px which are the recommended dimensions for Facebook group covers. Use custom dimensions to fill out this size.

  4. Add your text image, logo and graphics.

  5. Save and download your Facebook group cover.

Note: To get the best results for your Facebook group cover, we highly recommend placing all important content in the center of the Facebook group cover, as content in the edges will get cropped out when uploaded onto Facebook. As shown below, the grey area should preferably not contain any information.

Heads up: Facebook may reduce the quality of your uploads. There is no way to prevent that from happening, but we suggest you start with a high resolution image so the quality is acceptable after Facebook's automatic reduction.

And that’s all there is to it! You are now ready to create a nice, snappy cover for your Facebook group.
